Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology, IITM, an autonomous research organization, fully devoted to research in various aspects of climate science is looking for recruiting bright talented candidates of Indian origin to fill 20 Research Scientist positions.
i. Scientist `E` :
No of Post : 03 posts,
Scale of Pay : Rs. 37400 to 67000 Grade Pay Rs. 8700/- per month.
Age Limit : Not to exceed 50 years as on 1 July 2010.
Essential Qualification & Experience : A Doctorate in Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences, Oceanography, Physics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Physics, Geophysics from a recognized University / Institution. A minimum of 6 years experience of research (2 years should be after Ph.D. in Atmospheric and / or Oceanic Sciences (as evidenced by published papers).
ii. Scientist `D` :
No of Post : 07 posts,
Scale of Pay : Rs. 15600 to 39100 Grade Pay Rs. 7600/- per month.
Age Limit : Not to exceed 45 years as on 1 July 2010.
Essential Qualification & Experience : A Doctorate in Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences, Oceanography, Physics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Physics, Geophysics from a recognized University / Institution. A minimum of 6 years experience of research (2 years should be after Ph.D. in Atmospheric and / or Oceanic Sciences (as evidenced by published papers).
iii. Scientist `C` :
No of Post : 08 posts,
Scale of Pay : Rs. 15600 to 39100 Grade Pay Rs. 6600/- per month.
Age Limit : Not to exceed 40 years as on 1 July 2010.
Essential Qualification & Experience : Master’s Degree preferably a Doctorate in Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences, Oceanography, Physics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Physics, Geophysics, Electronics, OR B.E. / B.Tech ./ M.Tech. (Electronics / Electrical Engineering) degree from a recognized university/institution. A minimum of 5 years experience of research in Atmospheric and/or Oceanic Sciences related to weather and climate (as evidenced by published papers).
iv. Scientist `B` :
No of Post : 02 posts,
Scale of Pay : Rs. 15600 to 39100 Grade Pay Rs. 5400/- per month.
Age Limit : Not to exceed 35 years as on 1 July 2010.
Essential Qualification & Experience : Master’s Degree preferably a Doctorate in Meteorology, Atmospheric Sciences, Oceanography, Physics, Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Physics, Geophysics, Electronics, OR B.E. / B.Tech ./ M.Tech. (Electronics / Electrical Engineering) degree from a recognized university/institution. A minimum of 3 years experience of research in Atmospheric and/or Oceanic Sciences related to weather and climate (as evidenced by published papers).
