Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Invites applications from promising eligible sportspersons to avail financial assistance under its Scheme relating to Talent Search and Training. Purpose: The assistance can be availed for the following purposes: (i) Training and participation in tournaments abroad (ii) Training and participation in tournaments in the country (iii) Purchasing Equipment (iv) Availing Scientific Support.
Sportspersons :
Eligibility & Essential Qualification, Experience : (i) Those who have either equaled or excelled the existing National Record (ii) Gold Medalists of last National Championship (iii) Medalist of Asian Games/ Commonwealth Games/Olympic Games/World Championship in the relevant category, i.e. Senior/Junior/Sub–Junior in Sports disciplines covered under ‘Priority’ and ‘General’ category. (iv) For team events assistance will be provided based on an objective assessment of the performance in the National Championships.
Age Limit : (i) Age of the applicant should not exceed 25 years (ii) For sports like Shooting, Golf, Billiards & Snooker, Chess and Yachting the age limit may be relaxed up to 35 years (iii) For sports persons winning medals in international events last held, upper age limit may be suitably relaxed.
For training in India: i) Not exceeding Rs 3000 per day for coach ii) Not exceeding rates approved for national athletes attending national coaching camps for players.
ii) Coaching Fee: Assistance for training and coaching will be provided based on the expertise of the institution/individual coach, recommendation of the sports federation of the concerned country/ report of the Indian Embassy abroad and such other factors as deemed necessary.
iii) Scientific Support: The sports person will be assisted for scientific support as per the actual not exceeding US $ 100 per month.
