The University of Kashmir, Applications on the prescribed form to reach the office of the undersigned latest by March 20th, 2010 are invited for the posts available in the Departments/Centres/Institutes of this University.

i. Professor :
No of Post : 09 posts.
Age Limit : As per UGC.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 16400 to 22400/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : Ph.D in Micro- Biology / Biotechnology / Herbal Technology /Natural Product Chemistry.

ii. Director :
No of Post : 01 post.
Age Limit : As per UGC.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 16400 to 22400/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : Masters degree in any discipline with at least 55% marks from a recognized University having qualified Ph.D or NET. However in respect of candidates who belong to J&K State and are without Ph.D/NET,SET shall be compulsory requirement for them. Three years experience in quality assurance and NAAC related activities at University level.

iii. Associate Professor :
No of Post : 12 posts,
Age Limit : As per UGC.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 12000 to 18300/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : Good Academic record with a Doctoral Degree or equivalent published work in Management & Business Administration. In addition to these, candidates who come from outside the University system shall also possess at least 55% of marks.

iv. Assistant Director :
No of Post : 01 post,
Age Limit : As per UGC.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 12000 to 18300/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : Good academic record with a Doctoral Degree or equivalent published work in any of the Social Sciences discipline or language. In addition to these, candidates who come from outside the University system shall also possess at at least 55% of marks.

v. Deputy Librarian :
No of Post : 01 post,
Age Limit : As per UGC.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 12000 to 18300/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : Master’s degree in Library and Information Science/ Documentation with at least 55% of marks or its equivalent grade of “B” in the UGC seven point scale and a consistently good academic record; Five years experience as Assistant University Librarian/College Librarian.

vi. Coordinator :
No of Post : 01 post,
Age Limit : As per UGC.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 12000 to 18300/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : A Doctoral Degree or equivalent published work in Education. In addition to these, candidates who come from outside the University system shall also possess at least 55% of marks.

vii. Assistant Professors :
No of Post : 11 post,
Age Limit : As per UGC.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 8000 to 13500/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : Good Academic record with a Doctoral Degree or equivalent published work in Management & Business Administration. In addition to these, candidates who come from outside the University system shall also possess at least 55% of marks.

viii. Research Associates :
No of Post : 01 post,
Age Limit : As per UGC.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 8000 to 13500/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : Good academic record with at least 55% of marks or an equivalent grade of “B” Master’s degree level in the concerned subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from a foreign University.

ix. Assistant Librarian :
No of Post : 01 post,
Age Limit : As per UGC.
Scale of Pay : Rs. 8000 to 13500/-,
Essential Qualification & Experience : Candidates should have qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) or State Eligibility Test (SET) in the concerned subject conducted by the UGC/ Jammu University. Master’s degree in Library Science/ Information Science / Documentation or an equivalent Professional degree with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scale plus a consistently good academic record, computerization of library.

Application in the prescribed format should be send to the Registrar, University of Kashmir, Hazratbal, Srinagar-190006, J&K, India, on or before 20.03.2010.

Fees : Application Form can be had from the office of Deputy Registrar ( Printing & Stationery) by depositing Rs. 350/- ( Rupees three hundred and fifty only) in the University chest, Hazratbal or by sending bank draft drawn in favour of the Registrar of the University, cashable at J&K Bank Ltd. University campus, Hazratbal, Srinagar.
